The Cabinet of the Bahamas has undergone a slight reshuffle.

The government announced this week that Member of Parliament Hope Strachan had replaced Ryan Pinder as the country’s new Minister of Financial Services, a move that will take effect Jan. 12.

Pinder had resigned from the government last month to take a job in the private sector.

Arnold Forbes, the Member of Parliament for Mount Moriah, has been appointed Minister of State in the Ministry of Works and Urban Development.

That move will also take effect Jan. 12, the government said.

The Bahamas also announced that Dion Smith, Deputy Speaker and Member of Parliament for Nassau Village, had been appointed the Chairman of the Bahamas Agricultural and Industrial Corporation.

Smith will succeed Forbes in that role.
