Grenada is beginning the rollout of a block of housing units built by the government of China.

The country’s Ministry of Social Development and Housing has selected the first 50 people to receive houses under the programme.

The first group of recipients will live in houses in the Mt Gay and Soubise areas, according to the Ministry.

The Ministry’s Selection Committee said it expected that “full occupation” of the houses would be achieved before Grenada’s independence celebrations in February.
