St Maarten’s Sonesta Great Bay Beach Resort and Spa has reopened after sustaining damage from October’s Hurricane Gonzalo.

The 257-room adults-only, all-inclusive resort had suffered damage due to wind and rain during the major storm that struck the region in October.

The resort reopened on Dec. 18 after a series of repairs and “additional improvements,” the property said.

The property also announced the debut of a new Wedding Cabana overlooking Great Bay Harbour.

It had recently undergone an upgrade to guestrooms, the pool area, the fitness centre and other areas, a project that concluded in early October.
