New Ships on Way for Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America

Carnival Corporation has ordered new ships for two of its cruise brands.

The company announced this week that it had ordered a new 3,954-passenger vessel for Carnival Cruise Line, along with a new ship 2,650-guest ship for Holland America Line.

The new Carnival ship will be the 26th in its fleet; it will also be the sister ship to Carnival Vista, which is slated for delivery in 2016.

“These beautiful new ships on order from Fincantieri signify our ongoing commitment to provide the best possible guest experience across our industry-leading brands,” said Arnold Donald, president and CEO of Carnival Corporation. “New ships with the latest in features, accommodations and innovations really bring the modern cruise experience to life and will help us continue to grow new demand for cruising.”

Carnival Corporation’s global fleet is the world’s largest. It has added more than 30 new ships since 2007.
