Jamaica’s Jakes Resort Expands With Eco-Friendly Jack Sprat Shack

Jamaica’s Jakes Hotel has expanded.
The boutique property on Treasure Beach is opened its doors to Jack Sprat Shack, a green hostel-style property aimed at eco-conscious travelers.
The property will include two “dorms,” each of which will hold 20 bunk beds, six double rooms and shared locker-room-style bathrooms for a total of 50 beds.
Solar energy is powering all electrics, air conditioning and hot water at the property.
The property will also include a full-service communal kitchen (a cook can be arranged on request), along with a dining room, outdoor porch and living room.
The property also includes Jack Sprat Seafood and Pizza Restaurant.
Rates start at $35 per night, according to the hotel.
