Rum Journal: A Classic Coquito From A Condado Hotel
IT’S ONE of the most famous cocktails in Puerto Rico: the coquito, a sweet, milk-based cocktail that’s served most often in the holiday season.
But how do you make it?
The San Juan Marriott Resort in San Juan’s chic Condado neighbourhood has been kind enough to share the recipe with us, as the property is offering free Coquitos to all diners at the property’s La Vista Latin Grill.
Here’s the recipe (with enough for an entire party)
Coquito a la Condado
Serves 1 gallon
Ingredients:
Evaporated Milk 4 cans
Condensed Milk 4 cans
Coconut Cream 2 cans
White Rum (Don Q preferably) 1 liter
Brandy 1 cup
Vanilla to taste
Cinnamon to taste
Method:
Mix together all the ingredients and let stand in the fridge for at least 2 hours
Salud!
