US Virgin Islands Governor John de Jongh met Tuesday with Governor-Elect Kenneth Mapp to discuss the ongoing transition of government ahead of Mapp’s inauguration in January.

It was the second meeting between the two since the Nov. 18 runoff election.

“I want to thank Governor de Jongh for the smooth transition we have experienced so far. I thank you for the cooperation from all here at Government House,” Mapp said. “What we are attempting to do is get a good understanding of the issues confronting the government as a whole and the government’s agencies and departments.”

Lt Governor-Elect Osbert Potter is chairing the transition team.
