United Airlines has begun new nonstop flights from Houston’s George Bush International Airport to Nassau’s Lynden Pindling International Airport.

The new flights will be operated on United Express via SkyWest Airlines, using Canadair CRJ700 regional jet planes with 70 seats.

The flights began on Dec. 3, with flights every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. That service will reduce to Saturday only beginning Sept. 19, and suspended from Aug. 19 to Sept. 18.

“We are pleased to continue our partnership with United Airlines and offer residents of Houston the convenience of year-round, nonstop service to Nassau Paradise Island,” said Fred Lounsberry, CEO of the Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board. “This increased service will provide travelers, including those from the west coast, with more options for airlift to and from the beaches of Nassau Paradise Island in the Bahamas.”
