Venezuela and Dominica are partnering on a link road project on the Caribbean island.

The Petit Soufriere-Rosalie Link Road is now in its fifth phase, with the most challenging portion set to begin in 2015.

That phase will include the blasting of the Roche Mark, which has thus far “posed the greatest challenge to the completion of the link road,” the government said.

The phase is costing $2.4 million in grant funds from Venezuela through PetroCaribe Dominica.

The road is the latest cooperation project between the two countries, highlighted most recently by a major initiative to revive Dominica’s coffee sector.
