Avianca is continuing its fleet expansion plan.

The Colombia-based carrier took delivery of 10 new planes in the July-September quarter, the company announced.

The refleeting included the phasing out of two ATR 42 planes, meaning the carrier ended the quarter with an operating fleet of 165 aircraft.

The new planes included two A321 planes, two A320, two A319 planes and four ATR 72 turboprop planes.

“As we look ahead to the fourth quarter, we see Avianca on the right path to sustainable, long term growth, both at home and abroad,” said Fabio Villegas Ramirez, chief executive officer of Avianca Holdings.
