American Airlines officially launched its new daily service from Miami to Grenada on Tuesday.

The Miami-Grenada flights depart Miami at 5:17 PM arriving in Grenada at 9:45 PM, while the Grenada-Miami flights depart Grenada at 9:55 AM and arrive in Miami at 12:45 PM, a company spokesperson told Caribbean Journal.

American Airlines had previously been operating daily flights between Miami and Grenada from Thursday to Monday.

The new service comes as Grenada has had a banner year for tourism, following the entry of the new Sandals LaSource Grenada resort.

The flights were first announced by then-Tourism Minister Alexandra Otway-Noel in early September.

At the time, Otway-Noel said Grenada wanted to “ensure that we are opening ourselves up to markets that are doing well and that have good potential.”
