Increasingly, it looks as though Haiti could find a partner to build an all-inclusive resort in the country.

The latest hotel company to scout Haiti for a potential resort was Decameron, which has all-inclusive hotels in 11 countries around the world, including the Caribbean.

This week, Decameron President Lucio Garcia Mansilla led a delegation to visit Haiti to “assess the investment opportunities offered by the destination,” according to a statement from the Ministry of Tourism.

The two-day visit included talks with hoteliers in Port-au-Prince and a mission with Tourism Minister Stephanie Villedrouin to both Jacmel, Cotes-de-Fer and Ile a Vache.

Decameron, part of the Terranum Hotels portfolio, is the latest global hotel brand to explore Haiti’s nascent tourism sector, following Six Senses last month.
