Grand Cayman will soon be home to a major new road project.

Financing is now in place for a public-private partnership with the Cayman Islands government for a $60 million, 10-mile-long road project between the east and west ends of Grand Cayman.

Construction on the project is slated to start as early as December, according to Joe Beaird, chief operating officer at construction firm GLF.

The road will help pave the way for the major Ironwood development, a $360 million project that will include a Town Centre, an Arnold Palmer golf course and a residential and commercial centre in Grand Cayman’s Eastern Districts.

“Ironwood Development Group shares the optimism the Premier has recently expressed that this public-private-partnership will be completed before the end of the year and looks forward to the completion of this infrastructure project that will literally pave the way for the future of the Cayman Islands,” said Denise Gower, spokesperson for Ironwood.
