Dominican Republic Mourns Former Vice President, Foreign Minister

The Dominican Republic is mourning the loss of former vice president and foreign minister Carlos Morales Troncoso.

Morales Troncoso, who served as vice president of the Dominican Republic from 1986 to 1994, had served as the country’s foreign minister from 2004 to 2014.

In a statement, Dominican Republic President Danilo Medina expressed his “deep regret,” following Morales Troncoso’s death on Saturday.

On Sunday, Medina declared three days of official mourning.
