The Southern Dominican Republic was shaken by a 4.2-magnitude earthquake on Sunday morning, according to data from the United States Geological Survey.
The quake occurred at a depth of 114 kilometres, with an epicentre about 8 kilometres west of Esperalvillo and about 37 kilometres north-northwest of Santo Domingo.
It struck just early on Sunday morning just before 1 AM.
The most reports of weak to light shaking were in Santo Domingo, with some reports as far north as La Vega.
There were no reports of damage or injuries.
The Dominican Republic is part of a seismically active region of the Caribbean.
