From Miami, it will take you two-hours by jet; 20 minutes in a puddle-jumper; a five-minute golf cart ride; and 30 minutes on a water taxi to get here.
But El Secreto, a rustic-luxe clutch of villas on the Belizean outpost of Ambergris Cay, is worth it.
Blissfully isolated on a jungle-fringed beach, you’ll laze in a hammock on the porch of your villa, rising only to wander to the oceanfront restaurant for ceviche served in a conch shell, or to sip a frozen mojito on the sand as the afternoon sun turns the sea to molten silver.
At which point you’ll understand why this Caribbean “secreto” is definitely one worth sharing.
