The Organization of Eastern Caribbean States and the United Nations World Tourism Organization have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing their cooperation.

The memorandum was approved by Caribbean Ministers at a meeting earlier this year in Dominica.

According to the memorandum, the two sides will work on priority areas including air service development, the design and implementation of travel facilitation initiatives and the establishment of tourism satellite accounts in all OECS member states.

The cooperation will also include the assessment of options for expanding visitors arrivals in to the OECS and enhancing intra-Caribbean travel.

The latter will include support for joint negotiation in major source markets or working on the reduction of tariffs on air tickets for inbound international and intra-regional travel.
