Hilton Opens New Hotel in Colombia

Another major hotel company is expanding in Colombia.

Hilton announced that a new Hilton Garden Inn had opened its doors in the Caribbean port city of Barranquilla.

The 223-room property is the brand’s first hotel in Colombia and Hilton’s seventh in the country.

“Colombia is an important country to focus on as we continue to grow in Latin America, and we are thrilled to announce the opening of the newest hotel for Hilton Garden Inn,” said Adrian Kurre, global head at Hilton Garden Inn. “We are committed to global expansion and welcoming travelers with upscale and affordable accommodation in new destinations around the world.”

The property is part of the Blue Garden mixed-use complex, which also includes an upscale shopping mall.

“Hilton Worldwide recently announced our growth plans in Latin America, which include an additional six hotel developments in Colombia,” said Tom Potter, senior vice president for the Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America at Hilton Worldwide. “The opening of Hilton Garden Inn Barranquilla demonstrates our focus on Colombia and positions us for further growth in this market.”
