Nassau’s Graycliff has many claims to fame: it’s the city’s oldest hotel and boasts a 175,000-bottle wine cellar that’s the third largest in the Western Hemisphere. But they’re no slouches when it comes to rum-related matters either, offering a rum-and-cigar tour that combines rolling your own with a five-flight rum tasting. Whip up a tumbler or two of their classic rum punch and you’re sure to feel the island spirit – literally!
Graycliff Special
Ingredients
1 ounce light rum
½ ounce banana rum
½ ounce coconut rum
½ cup pineapple juice
2 teaspoons grenadine
1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lime juice
ice cubes
1 tablespoon dark rum
1 maraschino cherry, for garnish
1 thinly sliced orange round, for garnish
Method
In a cocktail shaker, combine light rum, banana rum, coconut rum, pineapple juice, grenadine, and lime juice. Fill with ice and shake until combined and slightly frothy. Fill a highball glass with ice; pour the rum mixture over ice. Garnish with cherry and orange slice. Top with dark rum and serve immediately.
