ASONAHORES, the Dominican Republic’s hotel and tourism association, has named Simon Suarez its new director.
Suarez will officially be presented on Sep. 3 in a ceremony at the Embassy Suites in Santo Domingo.
Suarez recently joined Grupo Punta Cana as vice president for institutional relations and projects. He was previously the chief development representative for Central America and the Caribbean at Hilton Worldwide, among other major positions in the Caribbean hotel sector.
He is also a former president of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association.
Suarez will succeed outgoing ASONAHORES director Luis Emilio Rodriguez, who had served in the role since 2012.
