Haitian filmmaker Raoul Peck’s latest work is a murder mystery set in Port-au-Prince.

The film, Murder in Pacot, is a joint Haitan, French and Norwegian production, examining a well-off couple’s life in the wake of the January 2010 earthquake.

The film, which is set in a villa in the capital’s neighbourhood of Pacot, sees the couple rent a room in the villa to a high-level foreign relief worker and his Haitian girlfriend.

Peck co-wrote the script with author Lyonel Trouillot and Pascal Bonitzer.

The film stars Alex Descas, Joy Olasunmibo Ogunmakin, Thibault Vincon and Lovely Kermone Fifi.

It will make its world premiere at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival.

Peck and Remi Grellety were the lead producers on the film.
