The Board of Directors of the Tourism Development Company of Trinidad and Tobago has named Keith Chin as the organization’s new CEO.

The appointment took effect on Aug. 4.

The TDC said Chin had over “thirty-two years of experience in middle and senior executive management roles at several private and public sector organizations.”

“It is a pleasure to be given this opportunity to serve my country in this capacity and I look forward to working with the dynamic team at the TDC in making Trinidad and Tobago the Caribbean’s premier destination of choice,” Chin said in a release.

Chin’s appointment comes in a period of relative flux for the country’s tourism sector, which had seemed to be demonstrating growth under former Tourism Minister (and current Transport Minister Stephen Cadiz), but has now seen four different Ministers of Tourism since Trinidad Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar’s government took over in 2010.
