Dominican Republic President Danilo Medina met last week with Luis Alberto Moreno, president of the Inter-American Development Bank, in Santo Domingo.

The meeting addressed some of the IDB’s ongoing projects in the Dominican REpublic, some of which have already been approved and some of which are at the stage for later signature, according to Moreno.

The talks covered issues including energy and road safety, addressed in part by Jean Todt, president of the International Automobile Federation, who joined Moreno at the visit to the National Palace.

The IDB president said it was the bank’s intention to accompany the government as it set out to address the challenges that exist in the Dominican Republic, particularly in the energy sector, according to a statement from Medina’s office.
