The Divi Flamingo Beach Resort in Bonaire will undergo a multimillion-dollar renovation project beginning in September, the property announced.

Renovations of the 129-room resort will include upgrades of the rooms, grounds, lobby, pools, restaurants and bars and will include a new 4,700-square-foot beach area, “the largest of any hotel on Bonaire,” the property said.

The resort said it would be the largest hospitality investment on Bonaire in recent years.

The project will also include the modernization of the resort’s Divi Dive including a new dive boat, a redone dive shop and classrooms and a wider modernization of the resort’s diving facilities.

“Divi is intent on elevating the vacation experience,” said Marco Galaverna, who was elevated to the position of president and COO of the resort earlier this year. “It is especially critical as today’s travelers seek more amenities. We are confident the changes will set Divi Flamingo Beach Resort apart from the competition and give our guests a fantastic vacation experience.”

The resort will additionally be opening a new restaurant, Pure Ocean, at the former Calabas restaurant space.
