Panama-based Copa Airlines is adding a new flight to Cuba, the company announced.

The company will be adding twice-weekly direct flight from Panama City to Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba.

Cayo Santa Maria will be Copa’s second destination in Cuba, with service set to begin in December. Copa already offers service to Havana.

“Through the years, Copa Airlines has demonstrated its dedication to world-class service, providing passengers the most efficient connectivity on travel to and from North, Central, and South America and the Caribbean,” said Pedro Heilbron, CEO of Copa.

The news comes after Copa added four new Boeing Next Generation 737-800 aircraft in the first half of 2014, bringing its total to 94 aircraft.

Copa is one of the major hubs for South American travelers heading to the Caribbean.

By the end of 2014, the carrier will offer 69 flights to destinations in 30 countries in the region.
