Southwest Airlines Begins Flights to Three Caribbean Islands

Southwest Airlines officially launched its first-ever international service on Tuesday with flights to three Caribbean destinations out of Baltimore.

The company began service from Baltimore/Washington to Aruba, Montego Bay, Jamaica and Nassau, Bahamas.

“Thousands of our Employees have a hand in launching today’s flights which begin to bring our convenient and affordable way of air travel to the world, and broaden the horizon for more than 100 million Customers who fly with us every year,” said Teresa Laraba, Southwest’s senior vice president of customers.

The carrier is also launching daily service from Atlanta to Aruba and Montego Bay.

Southwest will also be launching service to Cancun, Mexico on Aug. 10 and to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic beginning Nov. 2.
