Malliouhana, An Auberge Resort is planning to debut in Anguilla on Nov. 1, the resort announced on its Web site.

The resort, which first opened in 1984 and was almost single-handedly responsible for jumpstarting tourism in Anguilla, has been closed since 2011.

Last year, it was acquired by Chicago-based Adventurous Journeys Capital Partners, which then announced it had tapped Auberge Resorts to manage the property.

It has since undergone a major renovation and now will include 44 oceanfront rooms and suites, an Auberge Spa and an oceanfront restaurant.

John Vasatka, a veteran of Aman Resorts in both the Caribbean and Asia, is the property’s general manager.

Auberge Resorts’ hotels include the Auberge du Soleil in California’s Napa Valley and the Hotel Jerome in Aspen.
