For the fifth year in a row, Haiti took part in Mexico City’s annual Fair of Cultures and Friendship.

Haiti had a presence as part of an 87-country group at the fair, which is being held in the Zocalo, the historic centre of Mexico City.

Haiti’s Embassy said it had selected a group of top cooks and producers of small crafts to market the country’s culture in the heart of Mexico.

As Mexico has looked to step up its cooperation with the Caribbean in recent years, it has steadily deepened its cooperation with Haiti, in areas as diverse as tourism and education.

The fair, which began on May 17, lasted through June 1. This was the sixth edition of the event.

Organizers said as many as 2 million visitors were expected to have visited the fair.
