Jamaica Finance Minister Dr Peter Phillips will be heading to Europe and the United States next month for a series of meetings with financial institutions.

Jamaica’s Cabinet has approved travel for a delegation from June 10 to June 20, according to Information Minister Sandrea Falconer.

“The meetings are to apprise the international capital markets of developments related to the Economic Reform Programme and Growth Agenda, and will involve representatives from investment banks, pension funds and insurance companies,” Falconer said this week.

The talks will also cover Jamaica’s progress under the Extended Fund Facility with the International Monetary Fund along with the recent performance of the country’s economy.

Falconer said Phillips would also “articulate the macro economic and fiscal path being pursued to realize economic growth and development.”

Phillips will be joined on the trip by Financial Secretary Devon Rowe and Brian Wynter, governor of the Bank of Jamaica.
