Sonesta is coming to Curaçao.

The brand will be taking over at the Kura Hulanda hotel properties on the island, parent company GHL Hoteles announced on their Facebook page.

Both the Kura Hulanda Village & Spa and the Kura Hulanda Lodge & Beach Club will be flagged as Sonesta collection properties.

The two properties will each undergo “upgrading” of both rooms and food and beverage outlets, however.

They will be renamed the Royal Sonesta Kura Hulanda Village & Spa and the Sonesta Kura Hulanda Lodge & Beach Club.

GHL announced that it would be taking over operations at the Kura Hulanda Resorts following their closure in October 2013.

They had previously been managed by Netherlands-based Sandton Hotels.

GHL already manages 11 Sonesta-branded resorts in Latin America and the Caribbean.
