Montserrat is hosting a meeting this week of several political leaders from the British and European Overseas Territories.

Montserrat Premier Reuben Meade is chairing the meeting, which will take place on Thursday and Friday. It will include St Maarten Prime Minister Sarah Wescot-Williams, Anguilla Chief Minister Hubert Hughes and British Virgin Islands Premier Dr Orlando Smith.

In a statement, Montserrat’s government said the meeting would “determine how the EU funds earmarked for the territories are to be disbursed in advance of a major EU funding meeting scheduled for Barbados next month.”

The meeting comes after last December’s Caribbean Regional Consultation on the 11th European Development Fund for the OCTs held in Brussels.

Under the current European Development Fund, more than 50 million Euros have been allocated for small and medium-sized enterprises in the Caribbean.
