Grenada Foreign Minister Nickolas Steele recently wrapped up visit to Qatar.

The purpose of the trip was to pave the way for Grenada Prime Minister Dr Keith Mitchell’s upcoming trip to Qatar this year, according to a statement from Grenada’s government.

During the trip, Steele met with Qatar Foreign Minister Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al-Attiyah to discuss bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The talks focused on issues including “tourism and civil aviation, donor financing for infrastructural development projects,” according to the statement.

The two sides also plan to sign several bilateral agreements during Mitchell’s trip, the date of which has not yet been announced.

Steele followed the Qatar visit by attending this week’s regional summits in Merida, Mexico.

He was joined on the trip by Alva Browne, Foreign Service Officer at Grenada’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Business, responsible for the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
