Antigua and Barbuda’s tourism sector is off to a strong start so far in 2014, according to data from the Caribbean Tourism Organization.
Tourist arrival numbers in January and February were up 9.4 percent compared to the same period in 2013, according to the CTO data.
That was the strongest start of any CARICOM member state so far in 2014, according to an analysis by Caribbean Journal.
Overall, Antigua and Barbuda saw a total of 52,762 tourist arrivals in January and February.
The new data came after the country’s hotel association reported that the first three months of 2014 represented Antigua and Barbuda’s best first quarter since 2007.
