The Organization of American States will be sending an observer mission to monitor the upcoming Presidential elections in Colombia, the regional body announced.

The vote will be held on May 25.

Organization of American States Secretary General Jose Miguel Insulza has named former Costa Rican President Jose Maria Figueres Olsen to head the Electoral Oversight Mission, which was invited by the government of Colombia.

Olsen served as Costa Rica’s president from 1994 to 1998, and is currently the President of the “Carbon War Room” organization.

The mission will observe “including electoral organization, use of technology, and campaign financing,” among other facets of the electoral process, according to the OAS.

The vote will pit incumbent President Juan Manuel Santos against challenger Oscar Zuluaga.
