A 5.0-magnitude quake caused shaking in Colombia and Venezuela on Friday evening, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The quake, which struck at around 6:26 PM local time, was focused about 17 kilometres southeast of the Colombian Manaure Balcon del Cesar, and about 29 kilometres from La Paz. It was also about 401 kilometres southwest of Oranjestad, Aruba.
Manaure Balcon del Cesar is in the border region near Venezuela.
It occurred at a depth of about 130 kilometres, according to the United States Geological Survey.
There were reports of weak shaking in central Colombia and light-to-moderate shaking near the area of Maracaibo, Venezuela, according to the USGS.
There were not yet reports of any damage or injuries from the earthquake.
