Dominica Carnival in 7 Photos

This week is Caribbean Carnival season — and the region is full of seriously fun carnivals, including the one focused in Roseau, Dominica, our next stop on this Caribbean carnival tour. Explore the Nature Island’s own brand of carnival in these even photos, from Jouvert on Monday to the costume parade on Tuesday. In Dominica, it’s simply called “The Real Mas.”

Dominica may have a small population, but The Real Mas is a serious party.

The Real Mas a truly royal affair.

Whether it was raucous calypso or bright costumes, this year’s Carnival was just as energetic as ever.

Dominica’s Carnival generally starts on Monday.

Tuesday was all about the costume parade, featuring a diverse range of costumes and getups.

Miss Dominica helped lead the parade this week.

See you in Roseau!
