Tito Puente Jr, Barrington Levy to Star at Guadeloupe’s Terre de Blues Festival

International music stars Tito Puente, Jr and Barrington Levy will be among those headlining this year’s Terre de Blues festival on Marie-Galante in the Guadeloupe Islands.

The four-day festival, which takes place from June 6 to June 9, is now in its 15th year as one of the premier French Caribbean music festival.

This year’s festival, which is being held under the theme “Learning and Sharing Culture,” will also include artists like former Kool & The Gang lead singer James JT Taylor, blues and jazz musician Kenny Neal and Grammy Award-winning Benin singer Angelique Kidjo, along with local artist G’NY, among others.

Terre de Blues will be held across the island of Marie Galante at four different venues, including the El Rancho Theatre, the Village Caraibe, the Habitation Murat rhum distillery and Church Street.

The festival, which is organized by the Marie-Galante Community and the Guadeloupe Islands Tourist Board, will this year honour Alphone Siroy, a local supporter of cycling in Guadeloupe.

Previous Terre de Blues festivals have included appearances by Nile Rodgers, Damian Marley, Kassav’ and others.
