Orient-Express Hotels to Rebrand Under “Belmond” Name

Orient-Express Hotels has annnounced that it will be marketing its hotel collection under a new brand called “Belmond.”

The change, which will take effect beginning March 10, is being accompanied by a $15 million investment in “enhanced promotional and marketing initiatives,” according to Ralph Aruzza, chief sales and marketing officer.

Orient-Express Hotels has two properties in the Caribbean: La Samanna in St Martin and Maroma Resort and Spa on Mexico’s Riviera Maya.

“We are excited that we are entering the next chapter in our journey with a name that celebrates our character, resonates with our guests and encompasses the broad scope of our celebrated collection of hotels, river cruises and trains,” said John M. Scott, president and chief executive officer of Orient-Express Hotels, Ltd. “Each of our iconic and one-of-a-kind luxury experiences evokes strong customer loyalty and we are extremely proud of the heritage that makes us unique.”

The company has 45 properties in its global portfolio.
