Former United States President Bill Clinton began a two-day trip to Haiti on Monday.
Clinton, who has made a number of visits to the country and is the UN’s Special Envoy for Haiti, is visiting projects across Haiti, including in sectors like education, agriculture and manufacturing, according to a statement from the Clinton Foundation.
His trip included a stop at a school in Port-au-Prince’s Cite Soleil area and a visit to a coffee farm on Monday.
The latter featured a trip to the Haiti Coffee Academy, a model coffee farm.
The Clinton Foundation’s partner, La Colombe Coffee, is helping to bring Haitian coffee to the wider market, including to Four Seasons hotels in both New York and Toronto.
“We’re working with our partners to create and invest in sustainable businesses that are creating jobs and improving incomes for Haitians around the country,” the foundation said in a statement on Facebook.
