British Airways will be increasing its service to Barbados at the end of this year.
The new service, out of London’s Gatwick Airport, will see the addition of two new flights per week, from 10 to 12.
The flights, which will run from Nov. 30, 2014 to Feb. 28, 2015, could add almost 600 new passengers every week. The rest of the winter season will see 10 flights a week.
‘These extra flights mean families and holiday-makers will have even more choice where to enjoy the winter sunshine,” said Colm Lacy, British Airways Gatwick commercial director. “This builds on the extra flights we introduced for our summer 2014 season, thanks to adding an extra Boeing 777 to our long-haul Gatwick fleet making our flying schedule to top leisure destinations even better.”
In a statement, Barbados Tourism Minister Richard Sealy said the new flights would serve as a “welcome addition to increase inbound travel from the UK market.”
British Airways now has 10 long-haul Boeing 777-200s based at Gatwick Airport.
