Ziggy Marley took home the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album on Sunday night for his latest album, “Ziggy Marley in Concert.”
Marley won in a difficult category that featured Beres Hammond for “One Love, One Life”; Sizzla for “The Messiah”; Sly & Robbie and the Jam Masters for “Reggae Connection” and Snoop Lion for “Reincarnated.”
It was the sixth Grammy award for Marley, who is the eldest son of music legend Bob Marley. He took home his first Grammy in 2007 for “Love Is My Religion.”
Ziggy was also the second Marley to win in the category in the last three years, following his brother Stephen’s win two years ago for “Revelation Pt. 1 — The Root of Life.”
Stephen Marley has earned a total of five Grammys.
Jimmy Cliff won the Grammy last year for “Rebirth.”
The Grammys first began giving the Best Reggae Album award in 1985.
