Tropic Ocean Airways is launching new service from Fort Lauderdale to Great Abaco, the company announced.

The seaplane charter carrier, which re-instituted regular seaplane service to the Bahamas in 2011, will be offering direct flights to Hope Town by partnering with IJet Charters in Fort Lauderdale.

The seaplane flies out of Fort Lauderdale’s Sheltair terminal.

The company said the service “greatly streamlines TSA screening processes and custom checks and can literally drop off guests directly on the beaches at Hope Town.”

The company currently offers scheduled service into Bimini and private charters to Bimini, West End, Eleuthera, Abacos, Andros and the Exumas, along with the Florida Keys.
