Melia has officially taken over operations at the former Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort.

The all-inclusive property, which has a total of 694 rooms and 32 suites, is now the Melia Nassau Beach Resort.

The resort is located on a 1,000-foot stretch of New Providence’s Cable Beach. It includes three restaurants, two bars, a spa and 25,000 feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space.

It will become part of the Baha Mar resort complex when that property opens at the end of 2014, following an agreement signed between the two companies in November.

The Baha Mar will include an eponymous resort and casino, a Rosewood, a Grand Hyatt and a Mondrian resort.
