Eight Great Places to Eat in St Vincent

The “mainland” island of the Grenadines chain, St Vincent is a lush, mountainous wonder. And when you’re not exploring dormant volcanoes, exploring colonial forts or finding your way through downtown Kingstown, the island is full of culinary experiences to try. Here are seven of our favourites. What are yours?

Young Island Resort Restaurant

Ok, so it’s not technically on St Vincent. But it’s just a few hundred metres away, and from the tiny boat that ferries you across the water to the simple but scrumptious food, it’s an experience you won’t forget.

The Sapodilla Room — Grenadine House Hotel

An elegant dining retreat at the Grenadine House Hotel — everything from conch chowder to cornish hen.

Flow Wine Bar

This second-floor hotspot in the capital’s downtown is a wine bar with very good tapas. It’s one of the more upscale places on the island.

Aggie’s

If you want great roti, you need to get here. Soon.

Ferdie’s

This outpost in the town of Georgetown offers fresh, authentic, local Vincentian food. Make sure you wash it down with a glass of Golden Apple Drink.

Heritage Square

St Vincent’s food truck capital, this is not just one restaurant but a whole group. Take your pick of local offerings, but make sure you get some barbecue wings at Richie’s.

Cobblestone Inn

Boasting its own rooftop terrace, the Cobblestone is a great bet for lunch downtown.

Basil’s

A few steps down the stairs from the Cobblestone, the Kingstown branch of this Mustique favourite evokes an old-fashioned English pub. A frequent meeting place for the movers and shakers of the island.
