Work will soon begin on a $25.19 million athletic and football stadium (EC $68 million) in Grenada funded by the government of China.
The National Athletic Stadium project is scheduled to be completed by August 2015. It is expected to hold a maximum of 7,000 people.
The contractor for the project is also already on site, according to Prime Minister Dr Keith Mitchell.
“There will be several employment opportunities as government has requested that local labour be used as much as possible,” Mitchell said.
In April, the government said China had earmarked $31.49 million for the rebuilding of Grenada’s Athletic and Football Stadium.
