SAN JUAN — Puerto Rico’s capital is abuzz this week with the production of “22 Jump Street,” the sequel to the 2012 blockbuster action comedy “21 Jump Street” starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum.

The film, which is being directed by Phil Lord, has been shooting across much of San Juan’s Condado neighbourhood, including at the San Juan Marriott and the La Concha Resort.

While the first film saw the pair of cops go undercover as high school students, the sequel will find Hill and Tatum undercover as college students.

The production also included what appeared to be a concert by Diplo, the world-famous DJ.

The film will be released on June 13, 2014.

In recent years, Puerto Rico has become the Caribbean’s film production hub, using favourable tax and production incentives to host a number of high-profile films and television shows.
