Electronic music project Major Lazer will headline the second ParadiseWorld Destination Music Festival in Curacao on Dec. 21.

The festival is the latest major music event to be hosted on the Dutch Caribbean Island, which has found success in recent years with the Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival.

“Music is all encompassing here,” said André Rojer, Marketing Manager North America, Curaçao Tourist Board, in a statement. “From our Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival to our annual Carnival celebrations to, now, our high-profile electronic music festivals like ParadiseWorld, the island is on the radar of music lovers around the world with the expectation that these events are only going to get bigger and bigger every year. We are definitely gaining a reputation as one of the hottest islands in the Caribbean in the music and entertainment arenas.”

The festival will take place at Kleine Werf in downtown Willemstad.

Major Lazer, which is led by the world-famous Diplo, will be forming a show in Kingston the night before on Dec. 20.
