The Antigua and Barbuda Investment Authority recently concluded a three-city tour of the United States aimed at increasing investment by members of the country’s diaspora.

Sascha Mercer, director of marketing and business development at the ABIA, met with Antiguans and Barbudans in Washington, DC, New York and Miami as part of the agency’s “Diaspora Investment Partnership Programme.”

It is the first time the ABIA has undertaken such an initiative, which was launched in August.

“The purpose of this initiative is not only to meet with stakeholders and apprise them of investment opportunities at home, but to ascertain their needs and what investment vehicles would be useful to those throughout the diaspora,” Mercer said.

The ABIA is a governmental organization created in 2006; its mission is to promote domestic and foreign investment.
