The new Cayman Technology Centre commercial complex has broken ground in Grand Cayman, NCB Group announced.

The project is the first commercial building in Cayman to integrate both solar and geothermal technologies into its construction.

The property will be cooled with geothermal technology, while common areas will be powered by solar panels.

“Cayman Technology Centre is setting the stage for Commercial construction in Grand Cayman”, said Mathew Wight, Managing Director for NCB Group. “By integrating both solar and geothermal technologies the tenants will not only save money on their monthly utility bills but as developers, we are helping the environment and greatly reducing our carbon foot print. More and more organizations are looking at what they can do to help the environment and the leasing of their office space is the first step.”

The property includes a combination of retail and office space over four two-story buildings. It has signed on The Security Centre as an anchor tenant and a commercial bank as a second anchor tenant.

The complex features a total of 33,000 square feet, according to NCB Group, which recently launched a residential property, Cypress Pointe North.
