A group of marine parks in St Vincent and the Grenadines and Grenada will be receiving new support starting next year.
The support is part of the second phase of a project called “Strengthening Reef Management in the Grenada Bank”
It targets three parks from Grenada: Sandy Island Oyster Bed, Molinere-Beausejour and Woburn-Clarks Court Marine Protected Area and three from St Vincent and the Grenadines: the Tobago Cays Marine Park, the Mustique Marine Conservation Area and the South Coast Marine Conservation Area.
The project is being funded by the United States National Fish and Wildlife Foundation through Sustainable Grenadines, Inc.
Next year’s phase will focus on enforcement, “harmonization of monitoring and evaluation activities and enhanced outreach and collaboration with communities,” according to a statement.
